Evelyn H. Brantley is a native of Wilmington, Delaware and a second generation DuPonter. She graduated from Duke University (BA 1986) and the University of Alabama School of Law (JD 1991). After starting out as a Plaintiff’s trial personal injury and employment lawyer in Alabama, she joined DuPont in 1997 where, as Corporate Counsel, she oversaw a large litigation docket including personal injury, employment, commercial, product and toxic tort litigation. In the last ten years at DuPont, Lyn has managed more than three hundred and fifty cases ranging from crimes against humanity under apartheid South Africa to thousands of Plaintiff cancer cases in Mississippi and everything in between.
In January 2010, Lyn became DuPont Legal’s Global Managing Counsel – Operations and Partnering. She is responsible for all aspects of DuPont Legal’s partnering program including law firm and vendor selection, firm performance evaluations, internal and external matter assignments, rate negotiations and matter conflict resolution. On the operations side, Lyn is responsible for litigation budget management, supervision of DuPont Legal’s e-discovery team, legal technology initiatives and briefing DuPont’s auditors and management on litigation matters to facilitate compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and SEC reporting requirements.
Lyn is admitted to practice and has practiced before the State of Alabama, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the State of Delaware, the United States District Courts in Alabama and Delaware, the Third and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
